Art in rock
Painting: In la Paz we can find archaeological zones that testify the presence of human groups , as it shows in cave paintings such as :
La Grieta or Piedra de los Pescaditos(The Crack or The stone of the little fishes); the cliff "Piedra Pintada" (painted rock); La Piedra de los Monos(The rock of monkeys); the cliffs of Rincón de San Antonio; La Boca de San Pedro and las Cuevas de las Calaveras (Skulls cave).

Flora
Through the surface of the zone, four types of vegetation are located, two of them predominate; first we can find the scrubland compose by great fleshy steam cactaceous of cylindrical or flattened shape like: cardon, yucca, bishop´s weed, choya, pitahaya, garambullo, and jojoba.

The fact that the state is crossed by a mountainous area, determines that the zone presents three types of climate between the coast, the Gulf and the ocean, these are dry-semiwarm, very dry-semiwarm and warm. The minimum temperature in the Pacific zone is 13.6° C, the maximum temperature reached in La Paz has been 40° C , and an average of 22° C.

Before the European discovery , four distinct ethnolinguistic groups inhabitate in Baja California: the Pericú in the south,; the Guaycura from La Paz to south of Loreto; the Monqui, in the area around Loreto; and the Cochimí, in extensive areas throughout the middle of the peninsula. This is manifested by the archaeological discovery of several mural rock art founded in the mountain zone of the territory.
