•Velasco Garden
Favorite point of reunion of the city residents. Located in the Historical Center, surrounded by the ancient buildings that have been part of the southcalifornians history.
• Cathedral Of Our Lady of La Paz
Founded as a mission on december 3 of 1720 by the prists Juan de Ugarte and Jaime Bravo, who left the mission of Loreto; it was abandoned later in 1735 due to the natives hostilities. In 1871 the Cathedral was built, beautiful latin crox plant construction with gable roof and two pyramidal towers. Inside the cathedral its precious altar stands out devoted to the virgin of La Paz.
• Southcalifornian Youth Institute
This beautiful building, that was once the Goverment Palace, today hosts an organization commited to youth´s information and orientation, it also stimulates art and culture.
• Museum of Anthropology
• Serpentarium of La Paz
In this outdoor site you will observe the spices that live in the peninsula and in the other states of Mexico, like snakes, spiders, reptiles , among others. Its objective is to offer knowledge and ecological consciousness to the visitor in order to be able to preserve the endemic species.
• Cultural Centre “Prof. Jesus Castro Agundez”
Modern cultural complex that acts as artistic stage in La Paz. Hosts the City Theater, the art gallery “Prof. Carlos Olachea Boucieguez”, a children´s library, the public library “Prof. Filemón C. Piñeda”, the Museum of the Gray Whale, besides offering green areas, children game area and parking lot.
• La Paz Carnival
The carnival embrace a great cultural richness , exceptional colorful traditions, an 100 year old event where local , national and international artists come together in different performances. La Paz enjoys this celebration the last week of February or the first week of March.
• Breathtaking scene where events take place like “la Quema del malhumor” ( the bad mood burn), King of Joy crowning, Queen of the carnival crowning; recognitions to the Queen of poetry and the Distinguished Poet; a spectacular naval combat with fireworks and the traditional car parade.
